Having lost ground to the Peugeot’s in the first two hours the Audi drivers seemed unable to fight with their French rivals, but soon after Allan McNish had boarded the #7 Audi Sport Team Joest Audi R15 TDI the lap times improved and the Scot went after Pagenaud and Sarrazin. Despite knowing he would have to come in earlier than the Peugeot McNish kept pushing and had closed down the gap to just a few tenths of a second before making his pit stop. Double stinting at Audi was a problem and the team decided not to do it anymore.

Equipped with the BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit the new Mercedes S 350 BlueTEC delivers an additional 55 hp (54 bhp) / 40.5 kW of power and a peak torque of 690 Nm (509 lb-ft). This tuning kit also makes BRABUS the first tuner to meet the strict limits of the EURO VI emission standard that won’t go into effect until 2014. In emission testing required for certification the S 350 BlueTEC with BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S remained below the EURO VI limits by 30 percent. The Mini lineup will enter the 2011 model year with an array of visual and equipment upgrades for the Cooper, Cooper convertible, and Clubman. The visual changes include a redesigned front bumper that helps the Mini meet new pedestrian-safety regulations in Europe. The lower grille and new fog-light surrounds have more pronounced, contoured borders. Base (non-S) models feature a new horizontal bar in the lower air inlet, while S models sport prominent (and functional) brake ducts that can be trimmed in chrome. There are five new wheel designs in 15-, 16-, and 17-inch sizes.
