The ultimate Chrysler lead sled is back in business and badder than ever. A new DTM season gets underway at the official launch event in Wiesbaden: there will be nine drivers racing for Mercedes-Benz in the ten races that count towards the championship, plus the new show event scheduled for the Olympic Stadium in Munich. The newcomers to this year’s Mercedes-Benz squad are Christian Vietoris (22, Junge Sterne AMG Mercedes C-Class) from Germany and Renger van der Zande (25, stern AMG Mercedes C-Class) from the Netherlands.

Honda is rumored to be testing a new aluminum-block V-8 in the Ridgeline pickup truck. The V-8 is in the 4.2- to 4.4-liter range, with VTEC and cylinder shutoff, and is slated to appear first the next Acura {{{RL}}}, a 2011 model launching in 2010. Honda also is adding the engine to the next-generation Ridgeline, slated for 2011 as a 2012 model.

As you may remember, last summer, one of our writer’s had the pleasure of attending the PRO Mercedes AMG Driving Academy. While you only had the one article to read about the event, we heard about his experience for at least the next 6 months – making us all completely jealous and waiting for the next season of courses to attend ourselves. Mercedes just announced that they will now be using the SLS AMG GT3 for the MASTERS Academy, making us even more eager to sign up.
