Reading through the notes on "Big Blue," our 2009 Challenger, you almost begin to wonder how many people actually drove the car. Every entry is almost formulaic, hitting the same highs and lows and reaching the same conclusion:
"I loved the look of the car and the big V-8 engine. The pistol-grip shifter is awesome and the soft springs make it a great cruiser. On the other hand, the car's too big, it gets lousy fuel economy, and the nav/stereo system is awful. But despite its flaws, I just love this car."

The Davis Dam grade in Nevada is where all of the major truck OEs come to make their trucks cry -- it's been where the majority of serious pickup truck trailer testing has been done for decades. Temperatures in this part of the desert just above Laughlin, Nevada, are usually in the triple digits. Add to that a nasty climb out of the valley for several miles and you can see how this might be a problem for an engine and transmission (not to mention a cooling system) pulling a heavy load. For many truck drivers, this is the kind situation to avoid at all costs. A long-neglected segment in the U.S. market, the subcompact scene has suddenly gotten very interesting. First came Honda's second-generation Fit, which set the bar for the other contenders. Then, Ford's Euro-cutie 2011 Fiesta made its stateside debut, followed shortly thereafter by its distant cousin, the Mazda2. All along, Hyundai's Accent soldiered on as competent, if somewhat unremarkable, contender in the segment. Its competitiveness in the U.S. market was also hampered by the lack of a five-door configuration.

Cobalt Blue Metallic just isn't its color. The tone's all wrong. Not light enough or dark enough. Should be brighter, too. The arching undulations of the 2006 Porsche Cayman S, although hardly offensive in the hue, are better served by black or silver. No, red. Yes: red. Every Cayman S should be red. The fact that the Cobalt Blue Metallic is a $3,070 option only makes things worse.

Dodge has recently announced that 2010 will be the last year of production for the current Viper, and that it will be celebrating with a series of limited-edition models. Following the appearance-only ACR Voodoo Edition and ACR 1:33 Edition—the latter named for the unofficial Laguna Seca lap record set by the ACR—comes the Viper SRT10 ACR-X. (For the uninitiated, all those initials stand for Street and Racing Technology 10-cylinder American Club Racer [ostensibly] eXtreme. Thank goodness for abbreviations.)

The coupe-styled SUV trend is about to land at Audi, having already touched vehicles of other luxury makes, including the BMW X6, Acura ZDX, and Land Rover Evoque. It’s rumored that the new vehicle will, predictably, be called the Q6, and slot between the Q5 and Q7 to eventually do battle directly with the X6 of archrival BMW. A test mule of that upcoming sporty SUV may have been caught in disguise, as these shots from our spy photographer show an Audi Q5 with some rather suspicious features.
