The type of work the 2007 Acura TL is designed to do is maintain its leading sales position within the Acura lineup and close the gap on the entry-lux sport sedan sales leader, the BMW 3 Series. While Acura is pleased with current TL progress, holding steady at around 80,000 units a year, it seems the product planners at Acura have been watching the success of their recently rereleased European and Japanese counterparts in the entry-lux segment. The Auto Express spies have caputured photos of a 1:4-scale clay model of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class ahead of the full-size version’s reveal later this year.

Despite its size, the design model reveals that Mercedes has toned down the current car’s innovative MPV hatchback body style. The model is clearly inspired by the Mercedes Blue Zero F-Cell concept, which can be seen full-size in green-gold and hidden by a cover.

Though not direct competitors, they're both truck-based 4x4s with monster motors. Chevrolet will finally offer a hot truck (the Silverado SS isn't it) with its long-anticipated TrailBlazer SS (lead image). GM Performance Division stuffed an LS2 6.0-liter V-8 under the hood and lowered the suspension and then tuned and tested it at the Nurburgring. The 6.0-liter small-block makes 390 horses and 405 pound-feet in the SSR. Chevy estimates a sub-six-second 0-to-60-mph time for the TB SS, which will be offered with rear- or four-wheel drive.
