First Drive: Geiger Cars Chevrolet Camaro SS
A lime green Camaro SS with a supercharged whine, aggressive bodykit, writing on the windshield, and the number 13 on its side would draw stares even in downtown Detroit. We're not in Detroit, though, or even the United States. Download First Drive: Geiger Cars Chevrolet Camaro SS
First Test: 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ
Remember the Chevy Uplander? Of course you don't. Uplander was Chevy's last-and some say pathetic-attempt to take on the swashbuckling duo known as the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. Poor sales led Chevy to kill the Uplander and exit the minivan segment entirely back in 2008-the same year the Traverse came on the scene. Download First Test: 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ
First Look: Chevrolet Colorado Show Truck
Ahead of its public debut at the Bangkok Auto Show, General Motors has taken the wraps off of the preview version of its next-generation midsize pickup, which has been (not so) imaginatively dubbed the Chevrolet Colorado Show Truck. Download First Look: Chevrolet Colorado Show Truck
First Test: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Don't feel bad about it. I don't. Few mortal men are truly man enough to drive the Z06. In fact, if the phrase "Professional Race Car Driver" doesn't appear on your resume, don't even bother. (And "race car driver" doesn't apply to your Spec Miata, or that clunker you and your friends drag to LeMons. If it ain't televised, it doesn't count.) First Drive: 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG
The previous Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG was not a compelling reason to switch your personal allegiances to the three-pointed star. Its steering was numb, the interior underwhelming, and last and maybe least, it was inefficient. Luckily for enthusiasts, a switch has flipped at AMG in recent years. AMG models are now more focused on the automaker's sporting mission than the luxurious musclecars of days past, and there's new holistic approach to design. First Test: 2011 Ford Explorer
Everything Alan Mulally has learned, experienced, and changed at Ford Motor Company is encompassed in the 2011 Ford Explorer. A bestseller at 400,000-plus per year in the '90s, the Explorer met its automotive Waterloo during the Firestone tread-separation debacle. Sales of the body-on-frame Explorer dwindled to 52,190 in 2009, as Ford was launching its new Taurus. Ford redesigned the sedan far beyond its original intentions, though retaining the Volvo-derived D4 platform. Now, thanks to Mulally's push for quicker updates of Ford models, it's the Explorer's turn. Download First Test: 2011 Ford Explorer
First Look: 2012 Audi Q3
Given the variety of shapes and sizes in Audi's portfolio, from the petite A1 to the bulky Q7, you'd think the German automaker already had a vehicle for every niche. There are a few more to be filled, though, such as the compact luxury crossover segment, where the all-new 2012 Audi Q3 will do battle against BMW's recently launched X1. Audi first showcased the future Q3 with its Cross Coupe Quattro concept during the 2007 Shanghai auto show, and its production descendant is coming back to this year's Shanghai show for its reveal. 2011 MINI Countryman ’Wanderlust’ by Magda Sayegis
With so many auto brands going the way of producing art cars over the years, it certainly doesn’t surprise us that somebody would do something with a MINI. So when the German automaker decided to commission renowned artist, Magda Sayegis, to put her talents to good use on a MINI Countryman, we weren’t exactly shocked. Follow-Up Test: 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS
At 130 mph, its electronically limited top speed, the 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS should be wandering around like a wino after a jug of dry chardonnay. But it isn't. Despite sharing aerodynamics with Carnegie Hall, Chevy's new muscle-bound SUV is dead stable and…hold on a second while I pass this truck…requires nothing more than a few fingertips on the steering wheel to keep it pointed straight down the road. Even when passing these 18-wheelers traveling at half our speed…like this one…it just pours past without getting…wait a second, here comes another one…pushed around by turbulence. Long-Term Test: 2006 Honda Civic Si
Our 12-month test of the 2006 Honda Civic Si is complete. Over the span of 22,000 miles we drove the car to its limits and (on occasion) over them. It proved to be everything we expected, and we expected a lot. Download Long-Term Test: 2006 Honda Civic Si
Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl Ad Sneak Peak
Earlier today we told you that Mercedes-Benz is going to be debuting a new 60-second ad in this year’s Super Bowl, and along with it will come the world debut of two new Mercedes models not yet seen by the public. The total cost to debut the new models: roughly $6 million, thanks to the Super Bowl’s impressive ad rate of $3 million per 30 seconds. And while we could wait two days and simply watch to see the models make their $6 million Super Bowl debut, the truth is, I hate waiting, so I’ll do you one better. I’ll give you a sneak peak of the models making their debut, not Sunday, but right now. Download Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl Ad Sneak Peak
2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Sets New Safety Standards
Early next year, Mercedes-Benz will launch the all-new 2012 SLK-Class. The agile sports car will feature a bold, new design, exceptionally high levels of comfort, as well as plenty of open-air driving pleasure. At the same time, it will also set new safety standards for convertible sports cars. The third generation of this trend setting roadster will make use of a whole host of the latest assistance systems to support the driver, including the drowsiness detection system ATTENTION ASSIST, developed by Mercedes-Benz and fitted as standard equipment; available occupant protection system PRE-SAFE®, which is unique in the world; and the PRE-SAFE® Brake, which can apply the brakes autonomously in the event of an impending front-end collision. With the 2012 SLK-Class, Mercedes-Benz continues to set new standards of automotive safety. Download 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Sets New Safety Standards
Audi A3 2.0 TDI - First Drive Review
![]() Even though many of them are now working on hybrids, European automakers’ response to gasoline-electric vehicles—long championed by Japanese companies—has been to first scoff and then to point to their robust lineups of fuel-efficient diesel powertrains. Of course, diesels represent about 50 percent of the market in Europe, but they have never been offered widely in America. Fluctuating fuel prices are slowly beginning to change that, and although Euro diesels recently launched in the States have been installed in sedans and SUVs, small oil burners make sense, too. After all, if a premium sedan with the economy of a compact is impressive, let’s see what happens when you drop a diesel into a compact. Download Audi A3 2.0 TDI - First Drive Review
