To hear Chrysler tell it, the 2005 300 was the most awarded new car in the history of wheeled vehicles. Whether that's the case or not, it sets a dauntingly high bar for the 2011 car. Perhaps it's appropriate, then, that the car wears a new set of wings on its hood.

When Kia initially developed the body-on-frame Borrego, it would have made perfect sense to see it in a comparison with the Ford Explorer, Jeep Commander, and Dodge Durango, as they all were three-row, truck-based sport/utilities. But by the time the Borrego entered production in 2008 as a 2009 model, crossovers were starting to take over the SUV market, and the Borrego was too late to the party. In fact, the Explorer and Durango are now crossovers, and the Commander and Borrego have been discontinued as the market shifts away from body-on-frame SUVs.

Jaguar brought out the XF back in 2008 as a replacement model for the old S-Type in 2008. Three years later and it’s time for the luxury sedan to get a little refreshing in the form of a facelift. The revised XF made its debut today at the New York Auto Show and will be followed by diesel and station wagon versions at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The Shanghai Auto Show came and went with one star-studded concept slipping under the radar from a little unknown company called Icona Shanghai. Icona is a design studio based out of China and focusing on projects in China and Asia. Their latest project comes to us in the form of the Icona Fuselage, a concept that incorporates a design that is on a completely different level than many concepts we’ve seen in awhile.

Europeans have long understood that wagons don't have to be boring family trucksters. Unlike the lumbering land barges that populated U.S. highways in the '50s and '60s, sport wagons (well-equipped and usually for a premium price) can be as fun and capable as the sedans on which they are based. Add to that recipe a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and you've got yourself a vehicle that can literally run circles around any sport-utility of similar interior dimensions (and in all weather conditions) while earning far better fuel economy.

If the car world were an action film, Mitsubishi would be in the tenuous last five minutes of the last reel. The snake-headed alien space monkeys have beaten the hero to a bloody pulp. He's oozing from every pore and it looks like the space monkeys are about to turn the earth's population into food pellets. Will the hero suddenly find a last burst of strength, grab a Louisville Slugger and with a wry, "Batter up, space monkey," turn the aliens into primate piñatas? We don't know. The movie's not over yet.

The Mercedes-Benz BIOME grows in a completely organic environment from seeds sown in a nursery. Out on the road the car emits pure oxygen, and at the end of its lifespan it can be simply composted or used as building material.

Let’s not beat around the bush here: Morgan has many of the qualities you’d expect to find in a good, old-fashioned cult. Seen from a safe distance, the English sports-car manufacturer seems deliberately eccentric—it still regards lumber as an appropriate material for use in a vehicle’s body—with its followers tending to demonstrate the sort of glassy-eyed devotion you’d expect from the freshly mind-laundered.
