When Chevrolet showed the Corvette Sting Ray concept there was disappointment from Corvette fans who knew that the model would never go into production, but thankfully the diehards couldn"t let such an amazing design exercise be so easily forgotten. Working off a picture of concept, the guys over at BadBoyVettes.com came up with this beautiful rendered take on a racing version that they have dubbed the Corvette Stingray C7.R.
Like the current Corvette C6.R, the rendered C7.R features a bold yellow exterior which blends nicely with the Stingray concept"s dynamic and aggressive styling. The rest is pretty much up to your imagination, but it"s hard to argue with the end result.
The Corvette Sting Ray concept debuted at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this month and it mixes the classic elements of the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray coupe with modern design influences. Reportedly Transformer"s director, Michael Bay, was touring the GM styling studios looking for characters for the sequel and came across the Corvette Concept. He was supposedly so enamored by the car that he included Sideswipe in the movie, just so it could be part of Revenge of the Fallen.

You"re whining about one small part of the car, the rest looks like a 63+ Stingray.
