During World War II, Allied bombing heavily damaged the Alfa factory in Portello, Italy, and production was slow to resume after 1945. The 6-cylinder passenger and sporting cars of the late 1940s and early 1950s were large and not particularly fast. But in 1951 Alfa introduced a smaller, less expensive 4-cylinder car called the 1900.

Hyundai has announced the debut of the new i40 in March at the Geneva Motor Show. With the new i40, Hyundai will launch the new brand slogan "New Thinking. New Possibilities." The station wagon version will be the first body version to be launched and will be followed by a sedan version later this year.

While everyone’s attention at Nissan’s stand in Geneva was aimed at their new Esflow concept, the 370Z GT Edition sitting idly by almost passed by unnoticed. It’s a little unnerving, but it’s a good thing it didn’t escape altogether because it is a very cool car. The model was created as a special celebration of Nissan’s huge success in GT racing all over the world and as part of the celebration the special edition gets subtle suspension revisions, special racing strips, new wheels, and three special body color choices. The V6 engine remains unchanged.

The Oulander GT is another value-minded crossover in the garage, this one with Evo-like personality and styling. It's also one of the very few vehicles on the market today with a tailgate that uses a flipdown bottom half-door, making it easy to load gear. But editors are not thrilled with the head unit.

Chrysler Sebring is dead; long live the Chrysler 200. At least that's what Pentastar folks would like you to think.
Why? Because they know you previously have only considered a Sebring when standing at a rental car counter in a Sun Belt state. And while it may be an acceptable "upgrade" for the weekend, you have never seriously considered one for your own garage.
And as much as Chrysler wants you to consider its mid-size offering alongside the likes of Camry, Accord, Altima, and Fusion, it knew that couldn't happen when the badge said Sebring.

Preparing for a proper drive in the 2007 Jaguar XK Convertible brings on a mix of emotions. In many ways this is a brilliant topless GT that makes us want to indulge in its opulence. It's magnificently easy on the eyes, makes all the right sounds and is quick enough to not embarrass itself. Hell, the car didn't even leak one drop of fluid — on the ground or the driver. Better still, the urge to toss our stringback gloves into the wind was undeniable.

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG four-door coupe will make its world debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public November 19-28 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Other new Mercedes-Benz models at the L.A. Auto Show will include the redesigned CL coupe and R-Class crossover lines as well as the all-new E-Class Cabriolet. In addition, an update about the launch of the fuel cell-powered Mercedes-Benz F-CELL car will take place during a press conference at the Mercedes-Benz exhibit.

Mercedes will begin manufacturing its E-Class mileage-meister next year. When the company's first diesel-electric powered car was previewed at the Geneva auto show in March 2010, production was promised for 2011. Now executives admit the hybrid version of the E-Class won't be showroom-ready until sometime in 2012.
