VW's New Advanced Design Chief Takes the Helm
Luc Donckerwolke is Volkswagen Group's new head of advanced design, reporting directly to Walter de' Silva. Like VW AG design chief de' Silva, Donckerwolke moves into the new corporate job after heading design for the troubled Spanish Seat division, the brand charged with chasing Alfa Romeo buyersDonckerwolke's replacement at Seat is Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, who has been working for VW's Spanish design center since 1997, where he has worked on Seats, VWs, and Audis.

Donckerwolke joined VW Group in 1992 as an Audi exterior designer. He became Skoda exterior design chief in '94, then head of Audi exterior design in '96. Donckerwolke joined Lamborghini as a design project manager in 1998 and was named the brand's design chief in 2003. He was named to lead Seat design in 2005
